Table Thai Massage Therapy Treatment (initial visit)

Description
Table Thai Massage is a simple adaptation of Traditional Thai Massage (TTM) which is a modality that takes place on a mat on the floor. ABOUT TTM • Developed 2,500 years ago in India by Ayurvedic doctor Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha (served as a physician to Buddha) • Built on the concept of ‘Sen’ lines (or meridian lines) which are viewed as invisible pathways in which energy flows through our body • Involves a rhythmic routine that combines acupressure, reflexology, visceral manipulation, and passive stretching and joint mobilizations to increase relaxation, decrease tension and pain, to ultimately restore movement, alignment, and balance KEY DIFFERENCES FROM REGULAR MASSAGE • No use of massage oils or lotions — techniques are applied over the clothes • Clients remain fully dressed — so it’s important to be wearing lighter/stretchy clothing in order to be placed in stretched positions throughout treatment • Practitioners end up joining you on the table in order to perform the Thai Massage techniques, whereas in regular massage, practitioners (generally) remain off the table • Approach is less aggressive and area-specific, as the routine addresses the entire body • The routine starts at the feet Treatment can always be modified, and more time can be used on certain areas upon request! ~ View footage of a Table Thai treatment on my Instagram or Facebook. https://www.instagram.com/vp_lee_rmt https://www.facebook.com/people/VP-Lee-Massage-Therapy/61584910301175/
