INITIAL APPOINTMENT INTAKE PROCEDURE This involves going over your current health and health history, as well as treatment goals, preferences, and any necessary assessments to ensure treatment is safe. Assessments and health history review can take *15-30 minutes* depending on area(s) of concern, symptoms, and individual health history/condition(s) —so please keep this in mind when booking. I aim to prevent intake procedures from cutting into the massage treatment itself, but complex conditions may require longer assessments. Completing your intake and direct billing authorisation forms before your booked appointment will absolutely help the intake and billing procedures flow more efficiently. Failure to complete your forms ahead of time will cut into the reserved massage time, as the intake form is thorough. It is much quicker for you to review it at home, and select applicable information/conditions. Thanks for your understanding. ABOUT CUPPING Cupping Therapy is essentially a mechanical form of myofascial release that uses a negative pressure from plastic, silicone, or glass cups. The suction created by cups creates space between our tissue layers, stimulating and increasing blood flow to an area which can help: • relieve joint and muscle pain • reduce inflammation • accelerate recovery • increase the function of the lymphatic and circulatory systems • increase overall relaxation and well-being • may also aid in the healing of scars and surrounding tissues Cupping is performed a few different ways. Depending on your preferences and goals, one or more of the following forms of cupping will be used during treatment: • Static Cupping — Placing and keeping cups stationary in one area for up to 3 minutes to isolate one area at a time • Dynamic Cupping — Placing cups in one area briefly and dragging them to and from another area in order to address a larger area of fascia • Functional Cupping — Placing cups statically on muscle and tissue around a joint (like your shoulder) and moving that joint while cups are in place to aid in stretching and releasing the tight tissues surrounding it
